THREE people are dead and a man has been arrested after a shooting and siege in Victoria's west.
Police were called to a property in Wedderburn, 70km north west of Bendigo, where shots were fired at about 8.20pm.
When they arrived at the Mulga Ridge Rd property, one person was found dead.
Police then sought a person of interest.
The man, who is believed to have had a gun, held police at bay in a four-hour siege before he was arrested at about midnight on Wednesday.
A nearby property was searched where a further two bodies were discovered.
The man is assisting detectives with their inquiries.
Local media reported that his wife was present and was also helping police.
The homicide squad was heading to the scene early this morning, while local roads were closed off.

Ambulance Victoria's had initially been called to the scene but were dismissed when the case became "a police matter".
