‘OMG! I just sang for Obama’

AUSSIE singer Sia Furler stole the show when she performed for President Obama at a gala celebrating the LGBT community in New York.

The 38-year-old singer, who came out as bisexual on Twitter last year, looked stunning, rocking a strapless, vampy black dress.

The notoriously shy Furler (she usually performs with her back to the audience) looked like she was having a ball, later taking to Twitter to confirm her excitement.

"OMG I guess I just sang for the DNC and, er, THE PRESIDENT! #untelevised #faceoutfortheprez," Furler wrote.

(The singer also posted a video that captured a snippet of the performance.)

It's been a big few years for the Aussie, who's become one of pop's go-to songwriters (she's written hits for Rihanna, Flo-rida, Christina Aguilera, and Madonna). More recently, her own hit Chandelier has become a global hit thanks in part to the video, which stars 11-year-old dance phenom, Maddie Ziegler.

Things are going well in her personal life, too, with the singer recently announcing her engagement to filmmaker Erik Anders.
