JULIE Bishop showed her cheeky side at the Coalition campaign launch, drawing gales of laughter when she described seeing a Labor candidate presented with an angry voter's bare backside.

Bishop, the usually staid deputy Liberal leader, was second to address the crowd of 750 party faithful, and was tasked with making the day's most negative remarks about Kevin Rudd.

Tony Abbott has urged voters to 'choose change' as the Coalition official launched its election campaign.

But her recollection of the bum flash from a fired up, tracksuit-wearing man in the nation's most marginal seat of Corangamite in Victoria on the first day of campaigning was a highlight.

"The Labor candidate was handing out leaflets, the cameras were rolling, and a man came up to him and said, 'You Labor?'," she said.

"He then turned around, pulled down his track pants, bared his buttocks to the world and said 'well Labor can kiss my…'.

She also compared the alternating personalities of the Prime Minister, including ocker, nerd, arrogant and "cool and funky" Kevin.

"The trouble with Kevin is, he's a fake. All these multiple personalities," she said.

"He reminds me of the Incredible Hulk. You know, masquerading as the mild-mannered every-man but instead he's actually suppressing a monster inside, and he's suddenly unleashed on an unsuspecting public servant or a flight steward or heaven help a make-up artist."
