JOHN Travolta has broken his silence on the controversial Scientology documentary 'Going Clear'.
The devoted Scientologist said he refuses to watch the Alex Gibney film, adding that his ongoing involvement with the church has been "beautiful".
"I've been so happy with my experience in the last 40 years that I really don't have anything to say that would shed light on (a documentary) so decidedly negative," Travolta told Tampa Bay Times.
"I've been brought through storms that were insurmountable and (Scientology has) been so beautiful for me, that I can't even imagine attacking it."
Despite its controversial reputation, the Church of Scientology counts a stack of big-name stars among its millions of followers.
Travolta, Tom Cruise, Kirstie Alley, Orange is the New Black star Laura Prepon, singer Juliette Lewis and Aussie songstress Kate Ceberano are some of Scientology's figurehead celebrities who have all publicly supported the church.
Since its debut last month, Going Clear has renewed scrutiny of the religion and sparked calls for stars including Travolta to speak out.

The film, based on Lawrence Wright's book, made startling allegations about Scientology, including that members were threatened and tortured in prison-like camps, forced to endure hard labour and beaten in 'The Hole'.
The Church of Scientology and Travolta deny the claims.
"I haven't experienced anything that the hearsay has (claimed), so why would I communicate something that wasn't true for me?" 61-year-old Travolta insisted.
"It wouldn't make sense, nor would it for Tom, I imagine."

The Pulp Fiction star said Scientology has enabled him to help others.
"I've helped so many people through hard times. Loss of children, loved ones, physical illnesses. Through many tough, tough life situations I've used the technology to support them and help them. It's always worked," he said.
"So, why would I even approach a negative perspective? That would be a crime to me, personally, to do that."

The Grease star, who is married to actress Kelly Preston, described the exposé as "people who were disgruntled with their experiences" of Scientology.
The Church of Scientology released a statement after the documentary premiered in January, accusing it of publishing "false information".
"The Church has documented evidence that those featured in Gibney's film regurgitating their stale, discredited allegations are admitted perjurers, admitted liars and professional anti-Scientologists whose living depends on the filing of false claims," the Church said.
Last week, Saturday Night Live ran a music video spoofing the Church of Scientology, with members from a made-up Church of Neurotology singing about Diametrics.
