THE HACKING collective Anonymous has declared war on Islamic terrorism vowing to track down and destroy jihadist websites.
In response to the horrific terrorist attacks in Paris that began with the massacre at the offices of Charlie Hebdo, Anonymous posted a video on YouTube directly confronting Al-Qaeda and Islamic State.
In the video a person in a Guy Fawkes mask — which is the group's unofficial symbol — reads out the warning in French.

"We are declaring war against you, the terrorists," the figure says, adding that the hacktivist group plans to shut down all terrorist accounts on social media in revenge for the killing of staff at the satirical magazine.
The video was uploaded to the group's Belgium YouTube account and an English version also appeared online.
Earlier, Anonymous posted a statement on Pastebin, titled: "Message to the enemy of the freedom of speech."
"Freedom of speech has suffered an inhuman assault … Disgusted and also shocked, we cannot fall to our knees. It is our responsibility to react."
Anonymous has become well-known for its hack attacks on governments, religious groups and corporate entities. Typically it disables websites by sending out distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks that overwhelm the server.
