What life in Tehran is actually like

Inspired by the Rich Kids of Instagram page, which showcases the glamorous lives of twenty-somethings with more money than sense, the Iranian version is packed with images of luxury cars, fashion, watches, pools and jewellery.

But now the account's administrator has shut down the page "due to the high amount of false publicity" and has deleted every single photo ever uploaded.

Another account with a more accurate depiction of life in the Iranian capital — Poor Kids of Tehran, has since been set up. It's unclear if the two accounts are run by the same people.

The Poor Kids of Tehran account shows depicts the everyday live of Tehran's children — sleeping on newspaper, begging on the street and eating out of tin pots.
