A TATTOOED, self-described Satanist, who changed his named to the devil, allegedly told friends of eating parts of bodies he burned and then buried in his backyard yet they dismissed them as sick jokes.

Now two skeletons have been dug out from the backyard of Pazuzu Illah Algarad — named

by his mother Cynthia after the devil that possessed Regan MacNeil (played by Linda Blair) in the 1973 supernatural horror film The Exorcist — and Amber Nicole Burch, whom he calls his wife on Facebook.

Algarad, 35, and Burch 24, have been charged with the murder of Joshua Fredrick Wetzler, 37, and Tommy Dean Welch, 36, who were found in shallow graves at the couple's home in the village of Clemmons, North Carolina. They have been held without bail.

Krystal Matlock, 28, of Winston-Salem, was also charged with accessory after the fact for allegedly helping bury a body sometime between June and August of 2009.

Forsyth District Judge Gordon Miller told the trio they could receive life in prison without the possibility of parole or the death penalty if convicted. They are due to appear in court on October 23.

Bianca Heath told The Huffington Post that she lived with Algarad, who reportedly filed his teeth to sharp points with a Dremel tool, for a month in 2005 and he told her about the bones in his back yard.

"Paz told everyone. But I never believed him. I'm sure no one else believed him either. He laughed about the skeletal remains when telling the story on why he did what he did," she said.

Heath claimed Algarad told her he picked up two prostitutes at two separate locations before he killed and ate them, burning the remains in a fire pit before burying what remained.

Forsyth County Sheriff's Office is still investigating whether more human remains are buried in the property.

It is believed that Wetzler and Welch were killed separately in July and October of 2009 respectively, according to arrest warrants obtained by MyFox8.

Algared is accused of killing Wetzler with Burch helping bury the body, with Burch alleged to have killed Welch and, this time, Algarad helped her with the burial.

Wetzler's family said he was a beloved father, son and friend on a Facebook page that for the last three years had been devoted to finding him.

"I would like to know why," Martha Wetzler, Joshua's mother, told MyFox 8. "Why? Why they killed either one of these men."

"We knew it had to be him," Martha said, of Algarad. "You know, we were pretty sure that it, everything coincided with the stories we heard. I mean, he didn't keep it a secret."

She said the last time she had spoken with Joshua was shortly after father's day in 2009.

"He'd spent father's day with his son, and he, you know was really happy and I mean, he loved that child. So we knew he wouldn't just get up and leave," she said.

"Heartbroken. We always had that little bit of hope, even though you know in your heart, but you still have that little bit of hope."

In 2010, one year later, Algarad was charged with accessory after the fact to the involuntary manslaughter of Joseph Emmrick Chandler.

Algarad told psychiatrists that he practised a "Sumerian" religion that involved monthly ritual sacrifice of a small animal.

He told interviewers that he had to perform a ritual every month during what he called the "black moon," and he repeatedly asked if he could get out of the hospital to perform the rituals, even promising to come back after he had finished.

Forsyth County's housing officials declared the house unfit for human habitation. The house had debris and mould and animal faeces throughout.

On the front door there was a sign warning law-enforcement not to enter.

"No gang members allowed: anyone that dresses the same, has the same badge and call themselves the authority of the land they did not create."

Below is a picture of a skull and cross bones and underneath the words: "Evil will triumph".
