Bernard Tomic might have the talent of a top ten player, but right now, he finds himself outside the top one hundred after going down to world number six Tomas Berdych in four sets at Wimbledon.
EXCLUSIVE: AUSTRALIAN Tennis ace Bernard Tomic's father Ivica 'John' Tomic and former tennis hitting partner Thomas Drouet have settled their long running criminal and civil cases.
And it won't come cheap for Tomic, who will be told next week to stump up as much 300,000 euros ($435,000 AUD) compensation to Drouet.
It began on a tennis court before moving to a law court but in the end a suburban GP's surgery below a dull block of flats was the most unlikely of settings to end one of professional tennis' most violent disputes.
"It's over, that's it, I think," the 31-year-old Drouet told News Corp in Nice in southern France yesterday.
"Today was an important day for me … I'm just glad it's over, I have really always just wanted it to finish. I feel good you know. It's always been in my head, back of my mind, this thing so I'm really glad it's almost now over."

Tomic Snr had already been found guilty in a Spanish court of having headbutted the Frenchman Drouet to the ground unconscious outside a hotel in Madrid last year and had been handed an eight-month suspended jail sentence.
But the angry tennis dad had refused claims for compensation for the significant injuries his son's former tennis trainer suffered since the May 2013 assault.
However yesterday in a Nice GP's surgery an independent doctor appointed by the French courts confirmed the injuries and ratified the medical examinations for compensation for Droeut.
Earlier, the case had been before a French civil claims tribunal which ruled the claim could proceed pending the medical confirmation of reports produced by Drouet's medical team.
That was done yesterday during a two-hour review hearing.
In coming days a schedule will be applied to award costs to each injury.

Among the confirmed medical findings were loss of earnings from him being off work for two and a half months, three operations, some breathing difficulties from his smashed nose which remains crooked, a twisted cervical vertebrae from the head butt and fall, back issues and a poor shoulder which still requires a cortisone injection every few months. There are also to be costs imposed for distress which has required psychological counselling, future loss of earnings and legal fees.
In a separate action yesterday the French authorities moved to recover State-funded medical treatment for Drouet from Tomic. The final figure could be as high as 300,000 euros.
Tomic and or his lawyer were expected in the French court and or the medical hearing but neither went to either. But it appears Tomic may want to settle in advance anyway now and his lawyer has asked prior to this weekend's review to set up a private conference.

Yesterday Drouet walked along the beach near his home with his partner of four years Sophie Lombard who is seven months pregnant with their first child.
Drouet said his time in the past year had been hard on his partner too and she had suffered from his trauma.
"Yes it is exciting and I can't wait for this (pregnancy) to be over too," Sophie joked.
"Yes his (Thomas') thing has made things difficult. It's better now. It's always been preoccupying his head space, leaving him only a quarter to think about other things. Maybe after this he will be able to think about other things like baby."
Drouet said he saw Tomic glaring at him at this week's Wimbledon but said he didn't respond.
"I don't want to play that game, to look that way so I don't look and just pretend he doesn't exist," he said.
"My psychologist keeps reminding me here I didn't do anything wrong, I have done nothing to be ashamed about. So I'm trying to stay positive and get on with things. I have a tennis academy I have set up in Sospel (south eastern France) and that's been going well. And yes now we will soon have a baby boy so it is good."

Drouet is also a trainer for Hungarian tennis player Timea Babos who smashed her way into this year's women's doubles final at Wimbledon. He had to return to Nice for the Tomic matter so missed her semi-final and finals match.
Drouet was also a trainer for Marion Bartoli when she won last year's Wimbledon singles championship and also Chinese rising star Shuai Peng.
"It had not been the best year for me with the thing with John although I got on with my life and obviously have been working again with some amazing people," he said.
"The injuries still cause me some problems but I can work again now.
"For me my reputation has always been about the work. I take the work very seriously and when I couldn't work that was a problem."
