There's a fly in my scoop ... Sky News' Adam Boulton swallows an insect during a live broadcast. Picture: Sky News Source: Supplied

NEVER let a fly get in the way of a good story.

Sky News' Adam Boulton was detailing a shock Cabinet reshuffle in the UK when the veteran political editor got a surprise of his own: an insect in the mouth.

" ... And certainly if we look at the changing complexion of this Cabinet compared to-" Boulton said, cutting himself off as he appeared to choke.

A long pause followed, while the 55-year-old's face contorted wildly.

"Adam, Adam, do you want to take a pause?" someone from the studio asked.

The reporter composed himself and simply replied: "No, I swallowed a fly, that's alright — I've recovered now."
