PROVING once again the old saying that the best camera in the world is the one you have on you at the time, the iPhone Photography Awards celebrate images that are snapped with a humble smart phone.

Now in its eighth year, the unique competition's 54 winners battled it out in 17 categories covering everything from animals to landscape, still-life to events.
The top prizes are nothing to sneeze at either — the winner of each category gets an actual solid gold bar.
