A WILEY maths teacher discovered the ultimate deterrent against talking in class.
He threatened his pupils with revealing the names of the characters who die in TV show Games of Thrones.
When his students, many of them avid fans of the HBO show, took no notice, he made good on his threat, writing down the names of those killed off in the third series on the board in front of the class.
The Belgium teacher's tactics were described by one of his students on the French language site DansTonChat.
"My maths teacher is a genius!" the student began. He went on to describe how the teacher, who had read the books on which the series is based, told the class he would also reveal how the characters die.
"About 20 children let out cries of disgust," the unnamed student blogged. "But I can tell you there was a religious silence for the last hour of class."
