POP singer Justin Bieber has been arrested after drag racing on a Miami Beach street in a yellow Lamborghini and failing a sobriety test, police say.
Miami Dade-Police spokesman Sgt. Bobby Hernandez said officers spotted a red Ferrari and yellow Lamborghini drag racing at 4.09am local time Thursday (8.09pm AEDT).
Cops pulled over Bieber, who failed a field sobriety test at the scene. He was arrested and taken to the Miami Beach police station for a Breathalyser test and processing. A van believed to transporting Bieber has arrived at Miami-Dade County jail. The van, with blacked-out windows, was trailed by squad cars.
Two other vehicles had been used to block off an area so Bieber could drag race, cops said.
The Ferrari was being driven by rapper Khalil, who was also arrested, reports TMZ. Bieber also had a passenger in his car, a model.
Police believe the Canadian singer was under the influence of both alcohol and drugs, TMZ reports.

The singer was also busted for resisting arrest, after he refused to take his hands out of his pockets. He is also charged with driving on an expired licence.
An email seeking comment from Bieber's publicist Melissa Victor was not immediately returned.
The street where police say Bieber was racing is a palm-tree-lined residential area lined with apartment buildings, a high school and a youth centre.
The Canadian singer faces a maximum of six months in jail if found guilty. Under Florida law, people under the age of 21 are considered driving under the influence if they have a blood-alcohol content of .02 per cent or more - a level Bieber could reach with one drink. For a first DUI, there is no minimum sentence and a maximum of six months, a fine of $US250 to $US500, and 50 hours of community service. For anyone under 21, there is an automatic six-month license suspension.
The arrest follows reports that Bieber dropped $75,000 in just a few hours in a Miami strip club.
The superstar headed to strip club King of Diamonds on Monday night, which was celebrating Martin Luther King Day and rapper Lil Scrappy's 30th birthday.

A rep for the club told TMZ that Justin, "got $75k in 1 dollar bills and went wild."
The club, located in Miami Gardens, throws a series of wild themed nights including "Rodeo Wednesdays" and "Monday Night Fight Night".
Bieber had earlier jetted into Miami from a ski trip in Colorado, and was earlier seen dropping into hot Miami Beach club Mansion.
Bieber's downward spiral
It's been a dramatic year already for Bieber - police searched his Los Angeles pad last week looking for evidence of an alleged egging. There, cops reportedly found a trove of drugs and marijuana cookies, but couldn't arrest him. The singer lives in a gated community in Calabasas, a Los Angeles celebrity enclave that is also home to the Kardashians.
During the search, police arrested Lil Za, a rapper and member of Bieber's entourage on suspicion of drug possession. After being taken to jail, Lil Za, real name Xavier Smith, had felony vandalism added to his potential charges and was released on bail.

Bieber's increasingly reckless behaviour comes amid reports he is addicted to "sizzurp", a mix of cough syrup and Sprite, with pals urged him to go into rehab.
His mother, a former wild child herself, who had Bieber as a teenager, also has urged fans to pray for the singer.
Bieber also attracted criticism on a recent tour of Australia, after allegedly spraying graffiti on a hotel wall.
His tour of South America last year also ran into turbulence, with allegations that he tagged the wall of a Rio de Janeiro hotel and failed to pay a bill in a Buenos Aires nightclub.
Over the Christmas holidays, Bieber toyed with fans by announcing via Twitter that he was "officially retiring".
Police also investigated Bieber after neighbours complained he drove recklessly through the area.

Prosecutors in November 2012 also declined to charge the singer after a paparazzo accused him of punching and hitting him after leaving a Calabasas movie theatre.
