Rudd shares shaving cut. Why?

AVERT your eyes people, Kevin Rudd has a shaving cut.

This morning the Prime Minister decided it would be a good idea to take a photograph of said cut and post it on his Instagram and Twitter accounts, complete with bloodied tissue.

The photograph was sent to more than 1.2 million followers.

So enlightened was our reinstated leader, he felt the need to share some newly-acquired grooming wisdom.

"Note to self: when rushing out the door in the morning, make sure you take care with the razor. It is sharp," he wrote.

Maybe the heat is getting to his head, with the Prime Minister in Darwin to endorse Nova Peris as Labor Senate candidate for the Northern Territory and promoting constitutional recognition of Indigenous Australians.

But the bloodied scratch seems to have disappeared without a trace during a press conference spruiking the NBN this morning.

PM Kevin Rudd accused the Northern Territory of 'stonewalling' on negotiations for the federal government's better schools plan.

Today he will attend a ceremony marking the 50th anniversary of the Yirrkala bark petitions, the catalyst for Australia's historic land rights movement.

This isn't the first embarrassing social media blunder from Mr Rudd. In fact, there's been a few.

In February he proved white men can't jump, while a Sunrise television appearance saw him pumping weights for the"Big Guns of politics".
