NEW eyewitness video has emerged of the Mardi Gras partygoer at the centre of police brutality claims - with the reveller seen repeatedly kicking at police as they attempt to arrest him.
It comes as thousands of demonstrators are set to march on a Sydney police station tonight in response to previous video of Jamie Jackson, 18, allegedly being thrown to the ground by police during an arrest.
The footage sparked widespread outrage, but the fresh video broadcast by Channel 9, appears to tell a different story.
Mr Jackson is seen repeatedly kicking police as they try to subdue him while onlookers are heard yelling: "Jamie, settle down!" and "You're just making it worse for yourself".
Police have launched three internal investigations into officer conduct at Mardi Gras.
Bryn Hutchinson, a leading gay rights activist, alleges that he was assaulted by police when he tried to cross the road at 11:25pm on parade night.
Mr Hutchinson said he was thrown to the ground after he ignored police instructions not to a cross a road, and has suffered bruising and nerve damage in his hands.
Sydney creative director Gary Leeson, 55, has also alleged he was ordered to strip naked in full view of bystanders during a police drug search at a Mardi Gras Harbour Party on February 23. Mr Leeson has lodged a formal complaint with The Rocks Local Area Command.
Mr Jackson has been charged with assault and resisting arrest. Mr Hutchinson was also charged with assault. Both will face court next month.
Demonstrators are expected to march from Taylor Square in Darlinghurst to the Sydney Police Centre in Surry Hills at 6pm AEDT Friday night.
Mardi Gras organiser Peter Urmson said: "Mardi Gras was born out of the problem of police brutality and this shows there is still work to do.
"In prior years we've enjoyed a healthier relationship (with police) than we do today."
Police Superintendent Tony Crandell said: "Police recognise and respect the democratic right of people to conduct lawful and peaceful protest activities.
"We are also mindful that a number of participants are prominent members of our Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transexual and Intersex (GLBTI) community with whom we have strong trusting relationships."
