IT has a top speed of more than 320km/h, boasts a 5.2 litre engine, a black suede interior and has only 970km on the clock. And it could be yours for half price.

Unfortunately, half price for a 2012 V10 Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder is still an eye-watering $300,000.

One of the world's fastest road cars, which was a highlight at the Sydney Motor Show, goes under the hammer on Monday night after the recent closure of the Lamborghini Sydney dealership, which prompted a series of repossessions.

Pickles Auctions national manager of prestige vehicles Steve Allen said the sale at Moore Park was a great opportunity for someone to pick up a bargain.

"It's a car that's over $600,000 new, it is the current 2012 model and it could very well go for half price," Mr Allen said.

"If they're looking for a performance car that is going to be a head turner and draw people their way, this is going to be the car that does that.

"There's a lot of pose value and there's a lot of performance value as well.

"It's a high performance, luxury, exotic vehicle."

Mr Allen said 85 cars would be going to auction on Monday, ranging from the Lamborghini to a C-Class Mercedes-Benz. Other luxury vehicles which will go under the hammer include BMWs, Audis and Lexus.

"We've got a few high-end exotic cars right through to a 2012 C-class Mercedes which is $75,000 new but could go for around $50,000," he said.

Mr Allen said the vehicles had mainly come from financial institutions and fleet lease companies. "There's an unprecedented amount of repossessions at the auction ... there's a good chance for a bargain," he said.

People can view the cars from midday to 5pm tomorrow and Sunday at the Royal Hall of Industries, Entertainment Quarter in Moore Park.

The luxury vehicle auction will be held at 6pm on Monday at the same location, or people can also bid online at Pickles Live.
