THE father of a boy poisoned to death with salt by his mum says he hopes she gets 'beat to death in prison'.
Lacey Spears, 27, fed her son Garnett-Paul Spears salt through a breathing tube from infancy while blogging about motherhood.
The "mummy blogger" was sentenced in the US to 20 years in jail for killing Garnett because she craved the online attention she received by writing about his "mysterious illness".
The New York judge who sentenced Spears on Wednesday said she suffers from a mental illness known as Munchausen by proxy, a disorder which in some cases sees a caregiver fabricate or induce physical or health problems for those in their care.
Spears appeared emotionless on Wednesday as New York judge Robert Neary said the mother's mental illness contributed to Garnett's death.
"One does not have to be a psychiatrist to realise you suffer from Munchausen by proxy," he said.

Now the boy's father, Chris Hill, has taken to Facebook to give his thoughts on the case described as "unfathomable in its cruelty".
"Please put her in general (jail) population! That's all im asking for! Because she wont make it," he wrote.
Mr Hill was incensed that Spears was unmoved during sentencing.
"No emotion what so ever. What the hell!?? Crazy a** woman needs to be beat to death in prison."

A New York court heard that Spears had twice taken Garnett into a bathroom in hospital to administer salt into his breathing tube before posting pictures of him dying on her Facebook account.
Judge Neary said the woman's son had suffered "five years of torment and pain."

District Attorney Janet DiFiore said Spears's son had suffered "repeated hospitalisations, unneeded surgical procedures and ultimately poisoning with salt — all at the hands of the one person who should have been his ultimate protector: his mother."
"Using the child's 'illnesses" to self-aggrandise herself, her actions directly lead to her son's tortured death," Ms DiFiore said.
